Nokia, Microsoft sign agreement on smartphone cooperation

Nokia and Microsoft announced the signing of a definitive agreement on their planned smartphone partnership. Completed ahead of schedule, the definitive agreement is consistent with the joint announcement made in February. The two said they have already made "significant progress" on the development of the first Nokia products incorporating Windows Phone. "Hundreds of personnel" are already engaged in joint engineering efforts, Nokia has started porting key applications and services to operate on Windows Phone and joint outreach has begun to third-party application developers.
