Nokia has announced the appointment of Joerg Erlemeier as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and member of the group leadership team. Erlemeier will succeed Monika Maurer, who is to leave Nokia to pursue new opportunities elsewhere. She will support Erlemeier during a transitional period first.
Erlemeier was most recently senior vice president at Nokia Transformation. He has over 20 years of experience in various leadership positions in Nokia.
Maurer was named COO only in March this year, after previously serving as COO of Fixed Networks. She was responsible for Nokia's operating model, Global Operations (manufacturing and supply chain), procurement, implementation of cost savings and ongoing transformation activities, information technology, real estate and quality.
