Nokia seeks arbitration in Indian tax dispute

India is seeking international arbitration with India's government over the tax dispute that prevented the transfer of its main Indian factory to Microsoft last month. An asset freeze ordered by tax officials prevented Nokia in late April from transferring its manufacturing facility in Chennai as part of the sale of its phone business sale to Microsoft. Nokia said that it had written to Manmohan Singh, India's prime minister, citing the bilateral investment treaty between India and Finland, marking the first step in a possible arbitration claim, the Financial Times reports. The letter seeks
