Nokia, Telefonica set up giant small cell network in Chile

Nokia and Telefonica Chile have completed what the partners describe as the world's largest indoor deployment of small cells at the 168,000 square-meter Costanera shopping centre in Santiago. The companies replaced the existing distributed antenna system (DAS) with a high-capacity, high-coverage Nokia Flexi Zone small cells network that offers higher faster data speeds and supports a higher number of subscribers. Nokia said its technology will allow Telefonica to upgrade 3G small cells to 4G LTE and scale capacity as customer demand continues to evolve, adding that the new Flexi Zone base
