Nokia to include Open Compute designs in AirFrame servers

Nokia has announced that it will incorporate Open Compute Project (OCP) designs into its AirFrame data centre portfolio, comprising hardware, software and services. The company said that OCP-based variants for computing, network and storage will be developed in line with OCP specifications, but taking into account the specific needs of the telecom domain, such as regulatory requirements, direct current (DC) power feeding and electromagnetic shielding. Nokia is also planning to become an OCP solution provider with the ability to offer a full end-to-end data centre solution for telecom
