Nokia wins injunction against HTC Android sales

A German court has awarded Nokia a ban on the sale of all HTC Android devices after finding the company infringed a Nokia patent. However, HTC said it does not expect sales to be affected, as Nokia must pay a EUR 400 million bond in order to enforce the decision by the District Court of Munich. HTC said it will appeal the ruling, as part of an earlier action started in German court to have the Nokia patent declared invalid. Nevertheless the company said it is also looking into modifications of its handsets to avoid infringement of the patent in question. If the injunction is enforced by Nokia, HTC said it would file an urgent appeal to stay the move.
