UK court stays injunction against sale of HTC One

Monday 16 December 2013 | 10:50 CET | News
The UK Court of Appeals has stayed an injunction against the sale of the HTC One and other HTC smartphones in the UK, reports The Guardian. However, if the disputed patent is held to be valid by the Court, HTC could end up paying damages to Nokia for handsets which it has sold that are held to have infringed the patent. A decision on a ban will be taken at a full hearing in 2014. The UK is HTC's biggest market in Europe, generating sales of GBP 221 million between January-September, around 6 percent of global revenues, from the sale of 715,000 smartphones.
