Nordic operators critical of EC telecom reform proposals

Operators in the Nordic region have published a joint position paper in response to the regulatory reforms recently proposed by the European Commission. Overall, the EC proposals offer little incentive for investment, according to the statement from Tele2, Telenor, 3, TeliaSonera, DNA, Bite and Elisa. The operators said the support the proposal for a more harmonised approach to spectrum licensing across the EU. However, they are concerns that a common timetable for certain bands could hold back some countries looking to act faster, as has been the case with LTE spectrum in many Nordic
