Norway hopes to adopt EU roaming caps in time for goal

Friday 3 February 2017 | 12:08 CET | News
Norwegian telecoms regulator Nkom said there will have to be a European Economic Area (EEA) agreement before European Union plans to reduce wholesale roaming rates can be carried into Norwegian law. The European Parliament and Council have agreed on a maximum wholesale charge for data of EUR 7.7 per gigabyte from 15 June 2017 and a maximum voice charge of EUR 0.032 per minute. Nkom said it is unsure how long this will take, but it hopes it will be done before 15 June.
