Norwegian draft 2022 budget proposes NOK 204 mln for broadband expansion

ICT-Norway said it is concerned about the lack of investment in broadband and in ICT study in the 2022 national budget proposal. The organisation said the NOK 204 million that the government plans to spend on developing broadband is only one fifth of what is required. With 238,000 Norwegian households still lacking access to fast internet service, and large differences between cities and other districts, Norway needs NOK 1 billion every year for five years, it says.
