Norwegian minister responds to broadband coverage criticism

Friday 5 January 2018 | 12:32 CET | News
Minister for Transport and Communication Ketil Solvik-Olsen has responded to criticism about broadband coverage, saying that almost 50 percent more has been set aside for digital infrastructure in the 2018 budget. He said claims that there has been insufficient provincial investment are unreasonable, especially in a historical perspective. When the Centre Party left office in 2013, broadband coverage was only 7 percent in northerly Finnmark, compared with 95 percent in Oslo, but this has risen to 82 percent today.
