Nos says telco, OTT firms do not share level playing field

The CEO of Portuguese telecommunications operator Nos has criticised the lack of regulation for companies like Apple or Google and over-the-top (OTT) services like WhatsApp or Skype that run over operators' networks, reports Diario Economico. Miguel Almeida said that there is an unacceptable overall asymmetry and that Europe will have to address the issue. He stressed that OTTs are not subject to taxes and regulations, unlike telecom operators.
