Notebook PC shipments jump 34% in Q3, with HP nudging out Lenovo for top spot

Tuesday 17 November 2020 | 11:21 CET | News
The number of notebook PCs sold in the world lifted by 34 percent year-on-year in the third quarter to 62.2 million, according to the latest study from Strategy Analytics. The increase was attributed to new options for remote working, education and digitalization. Growth did get hampered by the tight supply in the face of record demand, ratching up competition amid covid-19 lockdowns. Shipments would have been higher otherwise. Supply will remain a key concern as demand is expected to stay high amid rising infections around the world as the Northern Hemisphere enters a very difficult winter.
