NSN looking to cut costs by over EUR 2 bln in 2012 - report
Nokia Siemens Networks is looking to cut costs by over EUR 2 billion in 2012, reports the Financial Times Deutschland citing unnamed company sources. To help achieve this goal, the company will review all its suppliers and service providers. CEO Rajeev Suri also plans to implement a new management structure, with daily management tasks to be handled by a 3-member strong committee consisting of Suri, the chief financial officer and a new chief operating officer.

Nokia Siemens in talks to sell BSS business - report

Nokia Siemens Networks is in advanced talks to sell its business support systems business, people with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg. The BSS division has attracted interest from potential buyers including Ericsson, Amdocs and private-equity firms, the report said. The business may fetch as much as EUR 300 million. Nokia moved to a net loss of EUR 1.57 billion or EUR 0.25 per share in the first quarter, on sales down 29 percent to EUR 7.35 billion. Siemens is looking for a new CEO for its joint venture Nokia Siemens Networks, Siemens supervisory board member Sibylle Wankel said.
