
Nokia Siemens CEO confirms talks to sell BSS unit

Nokia Siemens Networks confirmed it is talks with several companies to sell its business-support-systems unit. The company is also looking to sell its applications business, CEO Rajeev Suri told reporters, according to a Wall Street Journal report. He declined to name the potential buyers. Suri said the company had already completed six divestments of non-core businesses, as part of its strategy to refocus on the mobile broadband market. The CEO said the company is nearly six months ahead of its restructuring plan, but declined to comment on when the exercise would be completed. He added that the company expects investments by telecom carriers to be flat this year, after a decline in the first half already.
