NSN to restructure Business Solutions division - report
Mobile network equipment maker Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) is set to part ways with Juergen Walter, head of its Business Solutions division, reports German magazine Manager-Magazin.de citing unnamed company insiders. The company is understood to be unhappy with the performance of the division, which will be restructured following his departure. Important business areas such as systems integration and consultancy will be integrated with the Global Services division. Meanwhile, talks to sell part of the company are progressing. JV partners Nokia and Siemens are understood to be negotiating with a consortium made of US private equity companies Blackstone and The Gores Group about the sale of a significant minority stake of at least 30 percent.

Nokia Siemens works council does not object to IPO

Nokia Siemens Networks' works council wouldn't object to an initial public offering of the company, according to German weekly newspaper Euro am Sonntag citing the head of the works' council Georg Nassauer. EC clears Motorola networks sale to Nokia Siemens

The European Commission has cleared the proposed acquisition of Motorola's network equipment business by Nokia Siemens Networks. The commission said the two product portfolios are largely complementary and Motorola has a limited presence in Europe, meaning no negative consequences for competition are expected from the deal. NSN announced the acquisition for USD 1.2 billion in July and said it expects to complete the takeover by the end of 2010.

Finnish carrier Elisa contracted Nokia Siemens Networks for building a first phase LTE network as well as modernising its existing nationwide GSM and 3G networks with Single Radio Access Network (Single RAN).
