Nokia Solutions and Networks announced plans to show at the Moile World Congress in Barcelona new carrier aggregation technology to achieve up to 450 Mbps on LTE Advanced networks. In addition to the use of three cariers for a total 60 MHz over LTE-A, it will show the implementation of Inter Cell Interference Coordination (eICIC) to enable LTE small cell deployments. The new solutions are software upgrades to NSN's Flexi Multiradio 10 and Flexi Zone Micro/Pico base stations. NSN's dynamic eICIC solution manages interference while balancing the subscriber load across the small cell and macro layers. The company's equipment works with upcoming LTE-Advanced devices as well as with the LTE devices available today.
