NTT Docomo posts net profit of JPY 136.4 bln in fiscal Q1

Japanese mobile operator NTT Docomo posted a net profit of JPY 136.4 billion in the first fiscal quarter ended 30 June, down from JPY 158 billion in the year-ago quarter. Operating revenues for fiscal Q1 amounted to JPY 1.175 trillion, down 3.4 percent year-on-year.  NTT Docomo’s EBITDA reached JPY 386.7 billion in the quarter, down from JPY 420.4 billion year-on-year.

The operator also said that it expanded LTE coverage across the country, ending June with a total of 66,300 Xi LTE base stations across Japan. The operator expects to reach a total of 95,300 stations by end March 2015. NTT Docomo sold 5.16 million handsets during the quarter, down from 5.39 million handsets in the year-ago period, while the number of mobile subscribers by end-June totaled 63.56 million, up compared to 61.62 million by end-June 2013. LTE subscribers amounted to 24.04 million by the end of the quarter, up from 14.20 million at end-June 2013.

Japanese mobile operator NTT Docomo posted a net profit of JPY 168.7 billion in the first fiscal quarter ended 30 June 2015, up 23.8 percent from JPY 136.4 billion in the year-ago quarter. NTT Docomo's annual profits plunge 11.8%

Japanese mobile operator NTT Docomo posted a net profit of JPY 410.09 billion in the fiscal year ended 31 March 2015, a decrease of 11.8 percent from JPY 464.72 billion in 2014. Annual revenues amounted to JPY 4.38 trillion, down 1.7 percent from the previous fiscal year. In the telecommunications services segment, revenues amounted to JPY 2.74 trillion, down 7.3 percent, while revenues from the sale of equipment totaled JPY 904.1 billion, up 3.7 percent year-on-year.

NTT Docomo's 9-month profit, revenues decline

Japanese mobile operator NTT Docomo saw its operating income for the first nine months of FY 2014 drop 14.7 percent to JPY 587.1 billion from JPY 688.7 billion a year earlier. Net income for the period to December 2014 amounted to JPY 381.9 billion, compared to JPY 430.2 billion in the year-earlier period. Docomo to launch Japan's first VoLTE service

NTT Docomo announced that its Xi network will offer Japan's first LTE service for voice and video calls using VoLTE technology, beginning late June.
