NTT Docomo teams up with Qualcomm for 5G sub-6 GHz carrier aggregation

Monday 7 December 2020 | 14:11 CET | News
Qualcomm and NTT Docomo have together enabled the first commercialisation of 5G sub-6 GHz carrier aggregation (sub6-CA) in Japan, effective immediately. Customers on the operator's 5G network with devices powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Mobile Platform with the Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF System will be able to access download speeds of up to 4.2 Gbps. The 5G sub-6 GHz carrier aggregation system combines a 100 MHz carrier in band n78 and a 100 MHz carrier in band n79 to boost 5G performance and network capacity.
