Numericable owners mull IPO - report

Investment funds Carlyle, Cinven and Altice have invited investment banks to advise them on a possible IPO of their French cable operator and MVNO Numericable, three people with knowledge of the request told the Financial Times. The investment funds seek counsel on valuation, structure and timing of any flotation. The move follows reports of discussions of a merger between Numericable and French operator SFR, and could be a way to show SFR owner Vivendi that there are alternatives to a merger, according to someone with knowledge of the process. Numericable has an around EUR 4 billion
