Nvidia, HPE to build AI computing system for Swiss scientific research

Nvidia said that it will build a large AI-capable super computer in partnership with the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). The partners plan to start operating the Alps system, as the super computer is called, in 2023 to replace CSCS's existing Piz Daint super computer. HPE will build Alps using the new HPE Cray EX supercomputer product line.
