NYT, Axel Springer invest in Dutch start-up Blendle

The Dutch start-up Blendle has raised EUR 3 million in financing, from The New York Times Company and German publisher Axel Springer. Blendle will use the money to expand on the international market. Founders Alexander Klopping and Marten Blankesteijn still have majority control with a joint stake of 75 percent in the company. The new investors will not have access to sales figures from competing publishers and receive no preferential treatment, the company said. Started half a year ago, Blendle allows users to buy single articles from papers and magazines online. An article costs on average
