NYU wins NSF grant to build mmWave testbed

New York University academic research centre NYU Wireless has secured a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to build an advanced programmable platform to rapidly design, prototype and validate vital technologies for the millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum, potentially key to launching 5G. The new software-defined radio (SDR) platform will integrate an electrically steerable phased array with no physically moving parts and near-instantaneous steering.
