NZ govt changes consent rules for UFB installations

The New Zealand government has agreed to streamline consenting rules to help accelerate the installation of Ultra Fast Broadband (UFB). The changes are part of the first phase of the Land Access Reforms to reduce delays with getting properties connected to UFB. Communications Minister Amy Adams said that over 18,700 orders were made for UFB in December 2015 alone, with people wanting changes to make it easier and quicker to connect. She added that around 13 percent of all UFB orders require some form of permission for access to private property shared between neighbours, and around a
