NZ to extend Ultra-Fast Broadband to 80% of population

Friday 5 September 2014 | 10:38 CET | News
New Zealand will extend the Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) initiative from a target of 75 percent of New Zealanders to 80 percent of all New Zealanders. Fibre to the home is currently being rolled out across 33 towns and cities throughout New Zealand. New Zealand has completed nearly 40 percent of the build to more than 500,000 houses and businesses, and will extend the UFB to a further 200,000 New Zealanders. This extension of the project is estimated to cost between NZD 152 and NZD 210 million and it will be funded from the Future Investment Fund.
