O2 aims to grow Weve 10x after adding Wi-Fi, Priority users

Mobile operator O2 UK aims to grow mobile marketing subsidiary Weve, which it has just acquired from joint venture partners Vodafone UK and EE, tenfold in the coming years, O2 digital director David Plumb told the Drum. O2 and Weve will enter a month-long consultation period to look at potential redundancies. Plumb said some jobs would be at risk due to duplication. Where possible, staff will be redeployed to other roles at O2. Weve will introduce more flexible products and expand its opt-in customer database to 31 million, from 20 million at present, by drawing from its Priority and Wi-Fi
