O2 Germany selects Huawei, NSN for commercial LTE roll-out

Telefonica O2 Germany has selected Nokia Siemens Networks as a network technology partner for LTE. O2 customers in Germany will be the first within the Telefonica group to get ultra-fast mobile broadband services. It will launch LTE commercially in the second quarter of this year using both 800 MHz and 2.6 GHz frequency bands. The deployment will begin with rural 'white spots' followed by urban areas. Under the three-year contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will install its Flexi Multiradio Base Stations to implement the LTE sites in large parts of Germany. It will also provide a full set of
