O2 UK mulls fibre infrastructure investment for backhaul if obstacles are removed

Mobile operator O2 is considering investing in new, full fibre broadband infrastructure, as the emergence of 5G networks and rising demand for data threatens to increase its dependence on BT, according to an article in the online edition of the Daily Telegraph. O2 UK CEO Mark Evans said the operator would be a willing investor if barriers were removed.
