Ofcom consults on wholesale fibre cost modelling

Monday 9 May 2016 | 17:06 CET | News
UK regulator Ofcom has published a consultation on possible approaches to fibre cost modelling as part of its ongoing Wholesale Local Access (WLA) Market Review. The document sets out the general approach Ofcom intends to take to cost modelling in order to estimate the costs of fibre based access services. Specifically, Ofcom intends to use a bottom-up approach to estimate the costs to a hypothetical efficient operator of building a modern efficient Next Generation Access (NGA) overlay network. The consultation closes on 06 June.
