Ofcom says BT has overcharged Sky for fault repairs

Wednesday 28 September 2016 | 11:03 CET | News
UK telecoms regulator Ofcom has issued a preliminary ruling that BT has overcharged Sky, opening the possibility that BT may have to pay millions of pounds in compensation to its rival, reports The Times. The ruling centres on a dispute over charges levied by BT on rival operators to resolve faults. In its preliminary assessment, Ofcom said that BT failed to demonstrate that the charges were compliant with applicable cost orientation conditions. Ofcom added that its provisionally agreed with Sky that repayments by BT would be appropriate.
