Oi contracts US bank to renegotiate debt - report

Tuesday 19 April 2016 | 11:02 CET | News
Brazilian telecom operator Oi has contracted US bank Moelis to try to renegotiate its debt with creditors, sources close to the operation told O Estado de Sao Paulo. This may be one of the last chances of the company to avoid legal protection from creditors, the paper's sources said. Neither Oi nor Moelis commented on the news. The operator aims to close an agreement with creditors by the end of July, when BRL 1 billion in foreign securities comes up for payment.
