Oi to restructure debt by year-end

The chairman of Brazilian telecommunications group Oi, Bayard Gontijo, said that the company is confident it will succeed in restructuring its debt this year, reports Reuters. Gontijo added that he believes in the company's future. Oi had a net loss of BRL 5.35 billion in 2015, ending the year with net debt of BRL 38 billion. Last month, it hired PJT Partners as financial advisor to assist in the evaluation of financial and strategic alternatives to optimize liquidity and its debt profile.
