One fifth of Germans takes precautions against tapping

Only 20 percent of German internet users has started using precautions like encryption following the revelations about the NSA tapping all internet traffic, according to a survey by YouGov for German press agency Dpa. The survey found that 84 percent of the Germans is of the opinion that the tapping and surveillance by NSA and its UK partner GCHQ is against German civil liberties but only 45 percent finds their personal rights violated by it. Among the 18-24 years old, 53 percent find their personal rights violated compared to 42 percent of the 25-34 years old. Other findings include that 69
