OnePlus launches 5G Apps of Tomorrow programme

OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau has announced the launch of the company's new 5G Apps of Tomorrow programme at Mobile World Congress (MWC). The programme aims to promote community-led innovation to support development of the next great 5G apps. 

Applications for the programme can be submitted between 26 February and 26 March online at OnePlus.com/5g. The winners will be selected by a panel including the CEOs of OnePlus and UK mobile operator EE, executives from Qualcomm and a community vote. The five winners will be announced in April.

Elisa plans to offer OnePlus 5G phone later this year

Finnish operator Elisa said it will start offering the OnePlus 5G phone later this year, adding that OnePlus handsets have long been among Elisa's best-sellers.  OnePlus will be among the first manufacturers to release a 5G phone in Finland  in the second quarter of 2019, and Elisa will be the first Finnish operator to sell it.
