OnePlus has announced 14 May as the launch date for its next smartphone. The OnePlus series will launch at simultaneous events in New York, London and Bangalore, with China to follow on 16 May.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau told The Verge that two models are planned. The more expensive version, the OnePlus 7 Pro is expected to have a better screen and optional 5G support, helping push OnePlus into the ranks of the most premium phones on the market. According to the CEO, the company spent three times as much on the screen as previous models, and the new panel will "redefine fast and smooth".
Other media reports have suggested the new OnePlus will come with 90Hz refresh, a feature previously only seen on gaming phones like the Asus ROG or bigger devices like the iPad Pro.
