Only 10% of Dutch mobile numbers not issued

Around 90 percent of available Dutch mobile numbers have already been distributed, or a total of 54.26 million, according to research by GSM Helpdesk. The number of 06 numbers in use grew only moderately in the last three years, by around 3 million, as many older phone numbers were recycled after a year of non-use. Consumers are also keeping their numbers longer. Last year, the number of 06 numbers ported passed 25 million; number porting first became possible in 1999.
