Only 2% of Dutch using mobile payments

Tuesday 14 April 2015 | 11:16 CET | News
Two percent of Dutch consumers already make use of payments over a mobile phone, according to research by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel in March. The percentage interested in using mobile payments fell slightly compared to the previous survey in August 2014, to 31 from 24 percent. Young people show a higher interest, at 46 percent of 12-19 year-olds and 40 percent of 20-29 year-olds. Just under half (47%) of people interested in mobile payments said they would be prepared to install an app to use the service, and 35 percent were prepared to exchange their Sim to support mobile purchases.
