Ooredoo launches AAE-1 submarine cable in Qatar

Monday 18 July 2016 | 11:09 CET | News
Ooredoo Qatar announced the new high-capacity Asia-Africa-Europe-1 (AAE-1) subsea cable system has landed in Qatar. The system will connect the three continents and position Qatar as a crucial global hub, the operator said. It will help consumers in further enhancing Internet speeds and high-quality voice services as it will support the planned launch of 5G services in Qatar. Ooredoo is one of the anchor members of AAE-1 project, a 25,000km submarine cable linking the major internet hubs of the three continents.
