Open Compute Project names CTO

Bill Carter has joined the Open Compute Project Foundation as chief technology officer. Carter has worked on the open-source project since 2012 and help set up the OCP Teclo Project. Prior to becoming OCP's CTO, he was a data centre architect at Intel. As CTO, Carter's first priority will be to ensure OCP members have a complete library of building blocks that can be shared across the Open Rack and 19" EIA rack architectures. He'll also focus on creating more opportunities for sharing tested configuration information and hardware/software deployment recipes. Michael Schill also recently
