Open Fiber expands FTTH network to new Salerno localities

Italian wholesale operator Open Fiber has launched the first commercial offer using its FTTH network in the town of San Giovanni a Piro and the nearby locality of Scario in the Salerno province, designated as so-called 'white' digital divide areas. The 1 Gbps service is now available in around 2,900 homes as well as 18 public buildings after Open Fiber rolled out 28 km of new cables, 75 percent of which used existing infrastructure.
