Open Fiber to bring 1Gbps FTTH to Portici in EUR 4 mln rollout

The Open Fiber wholesale-only venture of Italian utility giant Enel and state lender CDP has signed an agreement with the local council of Portici near Naples to build a fibre-optic network in the town in a total investment of around EUR 4 million. The company said it plans to roll out 185 km of cable to bring FTTH services at speeds of up to 1Gbps to around 17,000 households within 18 months.
