Open Fiber to bring 1Gbps FTTH to Ravenna

Thursday 25 May 2017 | 14:32 CET | News
The Open Fiber wholesale-only venture of Italian utility giant Enel has announced an agreement with Ravenna city council to build a wholesale fibre-optic network in the Emilia-Romagna locality in a total investment of around EUR 20 million. The aim is to bring FTTH coverage to 58,000 homes by the end of 2018, enabling internet access at speeds of up to 1 Gbps. The rollout is part of Open Fiber's plan to build a wholesale fibre-optic network open to all operators in 250 large Italian cities.
