Open Fiber to bring 1Gbps FTTH to Salerno in EUR 15 mln investment

The Open Fiber wholesale-only venture of Italian utility giant Enel and state lender CDP has announced a deal with Salerno city council to build a wholesale fibre-optic network in the Campania locality in a total investment of around EUR 15 million. The company will roll out 26,000km of cable over the next 18 months to bring FTTH services at speeds of up to 1Gbps to 44,000 homes, offices, schools and public buildings.
