Openreach CEO dismisses spin-off proposals as 'huge mistake'

Openreach CEO Joe Garner believes it would be a huge mistake to spin off Openreach as an independent company. Writing in The Telegraph newspaper, Garner insisted that Britain has gained and will continue to gain from Openreach being a part of BT, benefiting from more coverage, investment and speed. He said that access to BT's capital allowed Openreach to meet the rapidly increasing demand for superfast broadband services, and highlighted BT's GBP 2.5 billion investment in fibre broadband.
