Opera, Ocean launch HbbTV product for connected TVs, STBs

Opera Software and Ocean Blue Software have launched an integrated Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV product for connected TVs and set-top boxes. The product combines the Opera Devices SDK for Linux, Opera's fully compliant HbbTV framework and Ocean Blue's advanced DVB middleware, which incorporates HbbTV extensions. The package will enable OEMS to give TV-viewers a feature-rich experience with full support for enhanced broadcast portals and services, such as ARD/ ZDF Mediathek, Tagesschau and Arte. The first public demonstration of Opera and Ocean Blue's HbbTV product will be at the IPTV World
