Optus FY profit plunges 39%, revenue falls 2% on lower equipment, service sales

Australian operator Optus saw its operating revenue decline 2 percent to AUD 8.95 billion in the full year ended 31 March 2020, as higher NBN migration revenue offset lower equipment and service revenues. During the year, Optus added 141,000 new postpaid mobile subscribers and 251,000 new NBN customers. EBITDA also fell 2 percent to AUD 2.65 billion, reflecting lower contributions from Optus Business and retail fixed and equipment sales revenues, the company said. Full-year net profit amounted to AUD 402 million, down 39 percent year-on-year, while free cashflow jumped 36 percent to AUD 1.39
