I have many friends and relations in the Philippines and ring them often. On 13 Nov Optus texted me saying because of Typhoon Haiyan (aka Yolanda) they were adding 20 minutes for free so I could keep in touch with loved ones there. I made repeated calls to the Philippines. I was debited for them, and in some cases, it seems, debited heavily. By 27/11/13 My Credit was reduced to 21 cents - but late that evening, Optus Balance statements were STILL showing that I had 20 Promo Minutes, expiring 27/11/13. This is extremely unsatisfactory, especially in view of the vast tragedy involved. After questions to Optus I am still waiting for an explanation.
