Optus rolls out 3x CA technology in Melbourne CBD

Australian operator Optus has enabled 3x Carrier Aggregation (3x CA) download speeds in Melbourne's central business district (CBD). The 1x FDD + 2x TDD1 technology powering 3x CA on the 4G Plus network is provided by partner Huawei. The launch comes ahead of the release of two new Samsung category 9 devices, the Galaxy S6 edge+ and Samsung Galaxy Note 5, in Australia on 04 September. The 3x CA technology uses three spectrum bands to deliver significantly improved download speeds compared to a single 4G channel. Optus plans to roll out 3x CA to the Sydney CBD in early-2016, followed by CBDs
