Oracle and TIM to launch joint Italian 'multicloud' offer

Oracle, TIM (Telecom Italia) and the latter’s cloud unit Noovle have signed a collaboration agreement to jointly offer multicloud services for companies and public sector organisations in Italy. The deal will see the three companies combine their respective assets and expertise to develop and manage multicloud-architecture services designed to help the public and private sector address the challenges of digital transformation.

TIM added that Oracle’s hybrid and multicloud strategy aligns closely with its objectives to ensure that all customer data is hosted in-country and customers have a cloud service that meets their data sovereignty needs. The companies also announced that TIM has selected Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as part of its multi-cloud strategy to migrate the group’s mission-critical data management workloads to the public cloud.

In addition, TIM has selected Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to optimise its finance and supply chain processes and help grow new revenue streams.

TIM officially launched Noovle last January this year as the group’s wholly-owned unit specialising in the provision of cloud and edge computing services, part of its stated objective to generate EUR 1 billion from cloud technologies by 2024.
