Oracle mulling acquisition of Accenture - report

Oracle is thinking of buying digital services specialist Accenture, the Register reported, citing sources. The company has started due diligence and hired global specialists to look into potential synergies that could be created by the deal. On top of the financial considerations, the consultants are also evaluating the potential impact on Oracle's wider channel.

The deal is still at an early stage, the sources said. Oracle and Accenture have a long history of working together, and almost two years ago launched a business group with the aim of converting more customers from old world technology to web services.

NYSE-listed Accenture has a market cap of USS 77.5 billion.
